You should definitely test it by yourself. And, probably, it’s mostly for the products or services without a free version. But anyway… 👍
Try to ask for user emails but not for making payments. Let me explain.
Doesn’t allow anyone to just sign up and make a payment. Provide the ability to only give you an email. Then, using this email, start sending emails with some frequency (daily?). Day one can have a link to actually sign up. Day two has the offer to extend the period if three of their friends sign up. Day three concentrates on your product or services and your features to convince people to do some actions. Enable your creativity 😉
Using this tip, you can avoid losing potential customers at your paywall. Also, this makes it less likely that people who are on the fence will walk away. And, finally, it allows you to capture emails from everyone who is interested in the product.

If you have a blog with already existing posts, collect stats on the popularity of your posts. Use the most popular posts in your blog to promote your signup. But don’t forget to include some bonus!
